Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day (12A)
Screenplay by Simon Beaufoy, Bournmouth University graduate and writer of “The Full Monty (will he ever get over that!), from the 1938 novel by Winifred Watson (recently re-released by Persephone Books). Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand), a middle-aged London governess, finds herself unfairly dismissed from her job. Attempting to get new employment, she accidentally finds herself catapulted into the glamorous, Noel-Cowardish world and dizzying social whirl of Delysia Lafosse (Amy Adams), an American actress and singer. With Ciaran Hinds, Bright, fluffy and very funny.
By the time you read this we should have had our first Film – Mama Mia! As I write this with two weeks to go we have over 60 people booking for the film – A big thank you for supporting the musical Mama Mia! I hope you will also come along and enjoy the comedy Miss Pettigrew.
